Handwoven with vegetable-dyed wool on a wool foundation, it carries what collectors recognize as eagle motifs…a powerful emblem in Caucasian weaving. For the mountain tribes, the eagle stands for courage, wisdom, and freedom…a guardian of the highlands and a protector woven right into daily life.
