Ohhh this is the good kind of quiet. Small and mighty, a late 19th century Caucasian tribal scatter with that perfectly neutral and earthy palette. Soft wheaty golds, warm sand tones, deep espresso browns… all mellowed down into something earthy and easy. Based on lighting, she'll be more golden or warm or on the cooler side.
The geometry here is strong but not loud. Stepped medallions anchor the center, framed by graphic borders with little tribal motifs marching around the edges. It has a grounding energy. Woven by a female weaver the Caucasus mountains, you can feel her hand and the slight dimensional irregularities and the imperfect symmetry of this charming old scatter rug.
Low pile throughout with even, time earned wear that texture collectors love. It lays beautifully and feels flexible in the hand. This is not a plush rug… it is a character rug. The kind that instantly adds age to a newer space or layers effortlessly into an already collected home.
Scatter size is magic. Toss it at a bedside, in front of a kitchen sink, under a small entry table, layered over a larger natural fiber… it just works. Especially in these neutral tones that play nicely with everything.
Worn. Tribal. Late 1800s. Still here. Still strong. It'll ship with a custom cut rug pad to keep it nice and snug.
