This vintage 1940s mat is known as Gharaeh or Karaja and it comes from the northwestern extremity of the Heriz weaving area, near Tabriz. These small, tribal mats have influences of the Caucasus Mountains and are great pieces with great durability to enjoy. Hand woven with all amazing wool and geometric art we typically see in these pieces and with awesome natural dyes.
Low pile, but you'll feel the great wool and appreciate the comfort under your feet. Has minor wear, please see pics as a couple tiny areas have a little bit of loss of wool, about the size of a quarter.
A rug pad will be sent on the house for this small beauty and it will stay nice n snug!
