A 1920s Turkmen rug with the classic ground color and characteristics these famous old rugs are known, beautifully repurposed into an antique pillow. Amazing! It was hand knotted by the nomadic tribe almost entirely with locally obtained materials, wool from the herds and vegetable dyes, or other natural dyes from the land. The elements you see repeating on the antique pillow are known to the tribe as elephant footprints. This is a superb lumbar pillow and they also call them “balesht” or “poshti” (in Farsi).
It is in great condition, parallel to time and history and comes stuffed, as you see it!
Hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool.
(sorry, USA only. Canada $50 flat)
