From the South of Persia, this finely woven Kerman Lavar from the late 19th Century owns a beautiful color palette with a star burst central medallion that sits with great presence. The weavers of Kerman are known for by virtue of their craftsmanship and remarkable presence of color combinations.

They say that Marco Polo loved these rugs and he had a hand in spreading their great popularity. This Kerman is a particular one, that comes from the Lavar group, woven in the town of Ravar, Persia, which are distinct, famed for their extra fine weave, delicate drawings, and distinct ranges of color/dyes.

This beauty is low pile, with a floppy handle, is worn perfectly with its superior wool. It has all natural dyes and with stylized flowers and curvilinear art that flows. Please see pics for close ups and full character and condition.
