Let’s start with the facts: antique and square, a double rarity. From circa 1910, this Persian has a brick red ground and features time softened color ways with unusual shape and art including flower heads, floral motifs, and curvilinear design with interconnecting vine art.
Soft accents of muted sage green and baby blue along with some beautiful shocks of teal and saffron yellow are gorgeous. This low pile village rug is worn, but fully intact, with sides fully bound. It has a lovely, floppy handle that Mahals are known for.
Low pile, worn. Has one tiny patch, please see pics for details (look for the hand in the shot).
Extended at great value for age, shape and origin.
