There is a ton of goodness going on here. An all over pattern 1920s P E R S I A N with age, superb hand made art and quite a lot of style! This rug from the village of M A H A L has gorgeous floral-geometric medallions throughout, with a lattice like design woven in. The shades of green has our hearts throbbing as we rarely see green in antique rugs. We know the artisans meant business! The rug sits on an aged madder red ground and the borders are deep indigo blue.
The spirit of this low pile rug is one we cherish as it is in great shape with lovely character earned through time. You can see the beautiful abrash throughout the rug, which is the variation of all its delicious natural dyes, from all the different batches of vegetable dyed wool used to weave this masterpiece. It also has scattered wear, showing off its age and style.
Woven with high quality and all natural wool that was dyed with vegetables, plants and flowers. From the 1920s.
