If you seek an old rug in immaculate condition, you've landed on a gem. This Persian is loaded with luxurious, high grade wool and owns a spacious design. The gorgeous vine and floral geometric art is remarkable and each motif on the rug independently shines. This was woven in the NW part of Persia, in the region of Heriz, on the rugged mountain area of the country, near Mt. Sabalan. At the top of the rug, you'll notice a signature, indicating a master weaver produced this outstanding rug.
Another great aspect of this piece is that it is square-ish and we cannot stress how awesome this is because it is so hard to find this shape in old rugs. Let's also mention that you'll feel the hefty weight of this rug, as well as the wonderful luster of its lanolin rich wool. It was likely styled in a room where it lived decades on end without much foot traffic at all.
The midnight blue in the main border gives a beautiful contrast to the ivory field and the edge guards have a continuous work of rosettes woven. This beauty is super clean and plush.
