10x14 Antique Turkish Sparta rug #2644

Regular price $4,800.00

Hailing from the Sparta and Smyrna regions of Turkey, this beautiful antique 1920s Turkish Sparta rug is a real treasure. Influenced by Sarouk rugs that typically have an all-over floral pattern against a red or blue ground, this lovely rug has an all-over botanical themed pattern against a fantastic berry mauve ground. The jewel-toned color story makes for a wonderful romantic spirit.

The all-over botanical themed pattern includes fabulous rosettes and meandering blossom laden vines that surround each floret. The amazing intricately designed border continues the awesome jewel-toned color ways against a midnight blue ground that adds such a great finishing touch.

Handwoven by women, they used wool dyed with natural materials, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers. This beauty has a low pile, is fully intact, and is in a nicely aged condition. At a great value, the all-over pattern and gorgeous coloring creates a nice palate to easily style a room around it.

From the 1920s, low pile, scattered wear and woven with vegetable dyed wool. At an amazing value for age and quality.
