Ahh, the royal Ferahan Sarouk! These finely woven rugs were primarily woven back in the day for a wealthy clientele, and they typically have a style with rich floral detail of classical antique Persian rugs. They posses high-grade wool and uncompromising workmanship with a very fine weave that was produced by highly skilled artisans. These particular Sarouk Persian rugs are known simply as “Ferahan” and they're characterized by a close-cropped and tightly packed pile of fine yarn, which means for great detail and intricate design!
This scatter rug is square as well, which makes it all the more rare, because it's not often you'll find an old rug in a square shape. It's beautiful, low pile, and mellowed, aged natural dyes and has quite the earthy mood.
