1'10 x 3'2 Antique Persian Malayer scatter rug #2551

Regular price $0.01

One of the best things about antique rugs is their exceptional quality. They were not manufactured in a factory with hundreds of other rugs that all look the same. Antique Persian rugs have been woven by hand by master weavers using designs that come from their heart and soul, which makes each and every rug a one-of-a-kind.

This beautiful antique 1920’s Persian Malayer scatter rug is a perfect example of this sentiment. Rarely seen in large sizes, antique Malayer rugs are almost always woven in small sizes. Woven typically by one female weaver, they are highly valued village rugs that are distinctly decorative with amazing drawings, art, and beauty in each piece.

A fantastic botanical theme with a lotus flower motif at the center symbolizing peace, enlightenment, beauty and fertility really catches the eye. Meandering floral motifs in slate blue, caramel brown, ivory, blue-gray, and navy blue against a deep coral/watermelon ground complement the lotus flower motif. An ivory band with an adorable floral motif perfectly frames the center field.

With vegetable dyed wool, woven on a sturdy cotton foundation, this awesome rug has a low pile and is in excellent condition. Beautifully stylized, this beauty is unique and was made to last another lifetime.

And a custom cut pad will be shipped on the house to keep this little gem nice and snug.
