11x13 Antique Persian Tabriz Rug #4519

Regular price $6,840.00

This 1920s Persian Tabriz is finely woven with vegetable dyed wool, the detail is crisp and dialed in…you can see the hand and intention in every line. Tabriz rugs always feature a tight weave and its a well respected Persian rug, the kind of rugs my parents have collected for decades.

This 11'1 x 12'7 antique rug showcases an ivory ground filled with an all over design with large scale medallions that do their part with strength, beauty and composition. They’re not just placed…they’re connected. Interlinking vines run throughout the field and a natural cadence than a pattern.

Scroll work softens the structure and adds a beautiful touche, while the symmetry keeps it grounded. And then the abrash…the changes and variations of all the batches of vegetable dyed wool lots that were used to weave, and the one-of-a-kind fingerprint only old rugs carry. It's like looking at watercolor effects.

Low pile with some scattered wear that shows its age in the best way…and adds that character of "iIm real" and "I'm old". This rug is stout and solid piece that has already lived a full century and is ready for the next.

Square-ish in proportion, which makes it incredibly versatile and a little harder to come by in this size range. Woven by skilled female hands, using real wool and real dyes…this one carries that unmistakable old-world feel.
