This antique rug has taken a beating and just keeps on ticking! Timeworn and with immense power and character, this circa 1910 rug comes from NW Persia, in Heriz.
It possesses a phenomenal and rarely seen size as most of these tribal rugs don't make it past 9x12, however this one is palatial and for those of you who love them super worn and need 'em super big, you got yourself a double win.
Its coarse wool comes from the rugged mountainous areas of the old country and it boasts a geometric design. The borders are grounded in a midnight blue. This battered and bruised rug has some areas with loss of wool and it has been given some reinforced hand work of a foundation and secured with large pieces of burlap on its underside to help keep it going for decades to come.
