Gorgeous botanical motifs in berry red, ivory, cerulean blue and golden wheat against a striking navy blue ground really catches the eye with its feminine spirit. At first glance, this gorgeous and spirited rug reminds us of Persian Mohajeran Sarouk because of the drawing that we typically see with those, but the female weavers on this rug were from Mahal and we know that from the weave we see on the underside and the texture of the rug, in hand.
The navy blue ground is very appealing and in high demand since it is more common to find Persian rugs with a red ground. The fantastic borders continue the botanical theme and provide a nice finishing touch to the overall feel of this wonderful rug. Handwoven with wool dyed from exquisite natural dyes, such as vegetables, plants, and flowers, has given this amazing rug such vibrant color ways.
This oversize beauty is in excellent condition with luxurious wool that feels like mink! Just look at the pinch of the wool in the pictures to see the magnificent quality of the wool.
