This is an incredibly priced old rug and the color and design mesmerizes us all. Famed for its grand, monumental scale of design and large scale motifs and elements, antique Turkish Oushak rugs are highly desirable and decorative for elegant room settings. These amazing rugs have been woven in the small region known as Oushak since about the beginning of the Ottoman empire.
Coarsely woven with superb wool and natural dyes, the distinctive pattern and subdued color palette makes this rug all the more desirable. It has a subtle baby pink ground and with different angles and lighting, it will look slightly different in tone. This rug is HEAVY with luxurious wool and amazing art design. It has immense history and meaning behind every inch of its being. The village weavers may have taken up two to three years to produce this work of art, undoubtedly from the wool of their own sheep, using larger knots and leaving us with a room size rug that will be forever cherished. This outstanding 19th Century rug is simply a masterpiece.

This Oushak has a pretty even pile. It has some minor stains from age and history that we treated and overall, it is in really good shape! It has been professionally cleaned as all our rugs ad ready for the next home. Beware, this baby is hefty and heavy, over 120 pounds an up close experience, we'd be happy to have a video call with you and this old rug!
