1'4 x 5'1 Antique Yomoud rug #2565 / skinny vintage runner

Regular price $0.01

Rugs can be a great way to express the values that reside in the hearts and minds of the craftswomen that weave them. This awesome antique 1910’s Yomoud/Yamoud/Yomut rug from the Turkoman/Turkmen tribe is a prime example of this idea.

Four angular medallions with ram’s horn motifs take center stage conveying a sense of masculinity, heroism, power, and virility. Clearly this motif is meant to honor those who guide, protect, and inspire the tribe these craftswomen reside in.

Beautiful earthy tones like ivory, burnt orange, butter yellow, and midnight blue against a chestnut brown ground really accentuate the tribal designs.

Handwoven with a wool foundation and with wool dyed with organic materials such as vegetables, plants, and flowers, it is amazingly soft to the touch. Although in excellent condition with pile, there is one minor area on edge that has some loss of wool. Please see up close pics for character and condition.

Such a fantastic size and shape as many seek a skinny runner or scatter rug, it could be great as a wall hanging or a runner on a dining room table. Whether styled as floor art or hung on the wall, this beauty will bring warmth and character to any space it resides in.

If you decide to give this fabulous rug a home, we will ship it with a custom cut pad to make sure it stays wiggle free.
