This adorable nomadic Baluch scatter rug is a gem! It's the smallest rug BPR has ever collected. These types of rugs usually come in a 3x5 size, but this little beauty is a unique size. With a soft wool foundation, the rams head motifs throughout the field in alternating rusty red and navy blue colors against a cinnamon-brown ground, symbolizes fertility, power, and masculinity.
Circa 1800-1900, this darling rug was hand-woven and dyed with natural vegetable dyes, which would give any space it resided in a soulful presence. This cutie can fold up like a handkerchief and may be better in a low-traffic area. We will ship it with a custom rug pad on the house to keep it in place. It may even be hung on the wall as art or styled over furniture, such as a piano or table top.
Low pile and worn. Vegetable dyed wool. On a soft wool foundation.
