This 1920s Persian Bidjar rug is built like a tank and is as pretty as ever. Known as the “iron rugs of Persia,” Bidjars are famously dense, thick, and nearly indestructible thanks to the insane tension used in weaving them. You’ll feel the weight and quality the second you roll it out.
Inspired by European art admired by Persian royalty, the Gol Farang or "foreign flower" design showcases sculptural cabbage rose blooms. These flowers are arranged in a lovely linear pattern across a rich field of deep crimson and navy blue. The resulting vibe is floral yet bold and grounded, far from dainty. To complete the piece, a beautifully decorated border pulls everything together, much like the satisfying final bar of a great song.
Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, the colors are vibrant and reflect the beauty of the natural dyes. In excellent condition, this fantastic gem of a rug is ready to anchor your room with serious presence. Pictures won’t do it justice, it’s meant to be seen, felt, and lived with.
In excellent condition.
