2’8 x 9’5 Antique Skinny Kurdish Runner #2468

Regular price $1,350.00

Handwoven by the Kurds in Persia, this fabulous antique 1920’s skinny Kurdish runner would be a wonderful addition to any narrow hallway or other confining space. The bold central design draws the eye toward it highlighting the simple botanical motif in scarlet red and ivory against a navy blue ground. The all-over intricate arabesque-like pattern in the central field provides a nice juxtaposition to the simplicity of the central and corner end designs.

Speaking of the corner end designs, the tri-colored edgy zigzag motif is symbolic of the very mountains these Kurdish craftswomen live and work by, which gives some insight into their daily environment. The ivory ground against the botanical motifs in scarlet red, navy blue, and chocolate brown frame the runner well.

This beauty was woven with wool dyed with vegetables, plants, and flowers. It has a low pile and there are some small areas of wear, which you can see in the pictures. Give this beautiful runner a chance to elevate a narrow space in need of jazzing up!
