For the love of rust! This super skinny runner is a diamond in the rough. Designed with great depth and spaciousness in design, this antique runner is from the Caucasus mountains and was woven circa 1880. It has a good deal of wear and character, naturally earned through time. It is flanked with ivory medallions and will be exemplary folk art to dress up a hallway with immense history and style. The amazing, natural dyes vary and shows off the different batches of dye lots used to weave.
To get more specific, this is a Talish Caucasian runner, known for their primitive designs. It's from weavers of a small tribe that used to be and herd sheep in the area now known as Azerbaijan.
Please note, this is a very, old handwoven piece and it is not perfectly straight. This adds to the old nature of these rugs woven by women that took several months to produce.
