Handwoven in the early 1900s, this is an antique Persian runner from Heriz and it comes with powerful, tribal medallions in the field with floral geometric design in the borders.
This runner is rugged, woven from very durable wool of the NW mountains of Iran and it will be able to withstand a lot of foot traffic for the toughest kids and pooches. Unlike many others woven pieces from this very tribe, this Persian runner has a finer weave and is to be treasured.
It's also squeaky clean and in great condition for its age. You can truly breath in its greatness. This beauty also exhibits abrash, a lovely feature showing variations of the natural dyes, indicating to us the different batches of dyed wool they used.
With the width at 2’11”, it works with the more challenging hallways with skinny waistlines! We don't get these old runners often as slim, but now those narrow hallways or kitchen problems are solved with this perfect dash of art and history. Hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool.
We recommend a rug pad to keep this old baby secure and if you'd like to have one, we can custom cut it for you in house and send along. Check out the pad here: https://www.shopblueparakeetrugs.com/collections/rug-pads/products/medium-runner-rug-pad
