This is a really cool, circa 1880-1900 antique Kurdish runner at an awesome size (for those who need skinny!) and with amazing art and character. It was hand knotted by Kurdish weavers, a very small minority in areas that are north of Persia and what they wove was considered a sacred act. The length is nearly 13 feet and the width actually ranges from 2'9 to 2'11. This is completely natural and very telling of the handmade character of old rugs from a century ago.
The natural camel color field that you see is actually non-dyed, all organic camel wool! It is a tribal runner with animal elements and even the element of the weaver was woven in. This low pile rug also shows off its natural dyes and you can see the variation throughout as the weavers changed batches and the colors change. You'll definitely notice it with the blues in the borders and it is so beautiful!
We do recommend a rug pad that we can custom cut for you and ship with the runner. Check that out here: https://www.shopblueparakeetrugs.com/collections/rug-pads/products/medium-runner-rug-pad
