Almost all Persian Heriz rugs we seem to catch are 8x10 or larger. This is a great find and a sweet little treasure with spectacular art and color ways that stand out.
This rug was hand knotted in Northwest Persia, and is in amazing condition for its 100 years of age. Note that it is not perfectly straight, as one side is slightly larger, and this is natural characteristics of an old rug that was woven by a woman on the loom, who was creating this piece off of memory and without a sketch.
This small Heriz is tribal with amazing, natural dyes and timeless value with generations to go. This rug has coarse knotting and a low wool pile, a sophisticated geometric design with medallions and motifs in it's field. Those pops of green are sensational.
