With small scale paisley design in the field and mesmerizing abrashed natural dyes, this 1880s P E R S I A N woven by the Kurdish tribe sits on a navy blue ground and possesses remarkable character earned only through time.
The bands in the borders are independently unique with its own art and you'll see that a different batch of wool was used toward the bottom of the rug in the borders. Most likely, the women who was weaving it was running out of the aqua blue wool and she had to switch it up to complete her rug.
Please note, this is a handwoven rug and it is not perfectly straight...which is all natural and perfect!
Low pile, worn. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool.
