This 1930s handwoven rug has coarse knotting and a low wool pile with a sophisticated geometric design and medallions in it's field. It has calm, natural dyes throughout. It comes from a village in Northwest Persia in Heriz. It is a small and isolated place, with unpaved roads. This geometric and tribal rug was woven with vegetable dyed wool rug is in great condition, especially considering its age.
