This is a beautiful, long and narrow Bibikabad, a village rug from the Hamadan region. Hand knotted with vegetable dyed wool, this runner is not only special because of it's beauty and rarity, but because of it's size. Often times, we cannot find this length and even more difficult to find is this width! Skinny runners we call them, and we love them! This 2'6" wide runner does it all for us, to get into those narrow spaces we need to style with the good stuff!
Due to the unique weaving style of this village, which is related to the Persian Malayer in technique, these rugs are pretty recognizable. It features curvilinear floral, all over pattern. Much of the floral design includes tree of life and floral blossoms. You will see little birdies throughout this rug, how adorable! Look at the beautiful art and floral work, it is just divine. This runner is an heirloom and we're proud to have it in our collection.
