Made of vegetable dyed wool and non-dyed camel hair, this ornate and long 24 foot Persian runner is quite rare. To find an old nomadic rug of this length and caliber is like finding a needle in a hay stack.
It was woven in the early 1880s in the village of Serab and undoubtedly from the weavers' own camel and sheep. This has dominant and earthy colors. It features an all over paisley woven design, which is symbolic to these nomadic weavers, representing the seed of life (fertility).
The runner actually used to be even longer, but somewhere through its time travels, it was professionally shortened. It is made of high quality wool and non-dyed camel hair. It has beautiful time worn wear (see pics), it's amazing and low pile, durable, and has at least another century of time for enjoyment. We recommend a rug pad that we can custom cut for you and send with order. Check out the "Rug Pads" if interested.
