This is a lovely antique 1930s Persian rug from the Hamadan region where so many amazing old rugs were woven and should be treasured. The central medallion and complimentary curvilinear spandrels decorate the main field beautifully while a floral pattern against a berry red ground that dazzles the eyes. The floral design of the border bands frames this little rug perfectly, tying it all together. Hamadan has long been the epicenter of important rug weaving and one of the oldest cities to exist. These treasures from this region and from the past are great investments and at great value here at BPR.
Low pile and handwoven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool, this awesome rug was well constructed, is very durable, and when handled will feel heavy duty.
