Originating from the North West mountains of Persia, this striking vintage Persian Gharajeh rug packs a punch with its bold design and vibrant color story. Three medallions with a tribal flair take center stage drawing the eye towards it in ivory, French and aqua blue, and pops of saffron yellow against a bright crimson red ground. Geometric shapes surround the medallions bringing a sense of movement and energy. The floral border ties the whole rug together perfectly.
From circa mid-20th century, this beautiful rug was woven with rugged mountain wool from the Heriz area. The primary colors really stand out and make a statement and would add a wild spirit to any room décor. It is meaty and durable and would be a great piece for a high traffic area, such as an entry way or hallway. This rug is also dated in the top border, in Farsi, as the weaver wanted to give it a time stamp.
