This is a very love worn antique wool rug from the 19th Century. It was woven in the Caucasus mountains, north of Persia and this piece has a very lovely, floppy handle. Due to its hand handmade nature, you can see this antique scatter rug is not perfectly straight, which shows off its old age and character. From the natural fringes at the ends and the colors we see, we suspect that the tribe member's goat's wool was used for this piece as well as sheep's wool.
This is a highly decorative, tribal piece with all naturally dyed wool. It sits on wool foundation. Please see pics for full condition. Not for a high traffic area.
