These folkloric, tribal rugs add a great deal of warmth and coziness with its antiquity and style. These small beauties are hand knotted by the nomads of Baluchi tribe and this one is from circa 1880.
Baluch or Baluchistan is the area between the borders of Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and with influences from all three regions, these rugs are distinct with character and do stand out from the crowd. They mainly come in scatter rug sizes as you see here.
Low pile. The rug is worn. It has a nice n floppy feel. Hand knotted with wool, on a wool foundation. Woven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool. It's the best way old rugs were woven. It's a steal deal so you can keep a great, little piece of history in the home without thinking twice about the price.
