From Anatolia, Turkey, this antique scatter rug holds beauty and soul within every knot. It can be styled on the floor, on the wall, on a table or vanity or wherever you wish to add a little dash of love and history in your world. The elements that you see in the border... they are female figures and they say are from the Anatolian mother goddess. These symbols were used as a symbol of motherhood and fertility. It can be safe to interpret, based on what we see on the inside of this very symbol that the female weaver may have been pregnant when she was creating this rug.
This little gem has a soft and floppy handle as it was created solely with sheep's wool and all natural dyes. Woven circa 1920. We'll send a custom cut rug pad on the house with this little one, to keep it nice and snug!
