A little floral firecracker from the 1930s…this Persian Kerman packs a whole lot of elegance into a small frame. Its saturated jewel-toned dyes are as lively as ever, with a deep midnight blue border that’s been artfully interrupted. This Persian has what is called a broken border moment. It's amazing to see them on Kerman Persians and it's where the weaver deliberately expressed the art in a free form vs traditional boxed border shape. A broken border in a rug has continuous, framing motifs that are opened up or "broken" to allow the central medallion or field design to spill into the border, or simply to create visual movement and it just adds to its vintage charm. Inside the ivory field, you get the classic curvilinear floral work Kerman is known for…full of movement, bloom, and soul.
The wool on this one is buttery soft and it’s in strong shape for its age. No major apologies, just a lovely, collectible piece that feels like it came straight out of a jewelry box. Great for layering or styling on its own, it brings that romantic old-world richness without taking up too much space. Medium and healthy pile and it feels luxurious.
Clean and tightly woven with vegetable dyed wool. It'll ship on the house with a custom cut rug pad to keep it nice and put.
