From circa 1920, this Persian Bakhtiari runner is exceptional in hand woven art and color ways. This Persian is low pile and in amazing condition for its age. The runner simply stands with its dark indigo blue ground (can appear black to the eyes) and a striking floral design. It was woven by nomadic tribe members of Bakhtiari, which is in west Persia. The colors are exquisite which make the woven design pop with contrast. This Persian has phenomenal wool on a cotton foundation and has generations more to go. All dyes used are natural, vegetable dyes.
The Bakhtiari tribe have rugs that travel and are collected around the world since the early 19th Century because of their amazing weave and decorative appeal.
