3’5 x 6’3 Antique Persian Malayer (#1597) / 4x6 vintage rug

This village rug offers so much! It is a Persian Malayer, famed for great decorative appeal and we can see why. Malayer is a large village, between the major weaving areas of Sarouk and Hamadan, in NW Persia. This beauty features really cool art and motifs on a navy blue ground. You will see fish (the hooked motifs) and pinwheels of life woven in. It comes from the 1920s, is low pile and perfectly worn.
