Made of vegetable dyed sheep’s wool and non-dyed camel hair, this ornate rug is quite darling and rich. It was woven in circa 1880-1900 in the village of Serab and undoubtedly from the weaver’s own camel and sheep.
The field has is filled with boteh design and the array of dyes used is exquisite, showing off the art and handwoven skill. Just take a look at all the colors and changes!
Low pile and very durable. Please note, this is a handmade rug and it has natural characteristics with its woven size. The runner’s width varies slightly and bows out slightly in the middle. This is completely normal and telling of its age and character. ANTIQUE!
