3’8 x 5’ Vintage Persian Shiraz (#1687) / 4x5 Vintage Rug

This is a classic, tribal mid 20th century rug that from Shiraz, south of Persia. It has a nice wool pile that is luxurious and a bit of plush that cannot be missed. The handle is floppy and soft, woven with vegetable dyed wool. It has a wool foundation with fringes that are raw and beautiful. In the field, you'll see double diamond medallions and many animal elements throughout the field, very nomadic! The borders feature serrated leaves on an ivory ground.
