This is a magnificent and over a century old Malayer from the Hamadan region of Persia. It has a lot of character congruent to it's age with all natural dyes and old world wool that has beautifully aged. The neutral color ways are favored by many and it makes this Persian rug stand out even more. The rug is low pile and has scattered wear.
There is nothing ever synthetic of antique rugs like this one that is 100+ years old...one hand knotted in 1880s. A rug in this great size will play up a space with loads of charm and history.
Malayer is a village in Northwest Persia and is known to have produced really decorative rugs that are great investments for a home. The wool of this rug is highly durable, strong, and a rug to be enjoyed for decades to come.
