Talk abut a rug that took a beauty and kept on ticking! This antique P E R S I A N on a navy blue ground comes from Tabriz, one of the most respected weaving towns of P E R S I A. It features a Mahi design, which means fish. Can you see them surrounding the flower heads? The rug has a nice color story and it is a skillfully & tightly woven piece.
It was woven in the 1920s and the size you see is a modified size. This scatter rug was larger and had the type of wear and tear that needed love and rehab. We took off the last edge guard border and reduced it to a smaller piece and she's all healed up and ready to go.
Low pile. Worn. Woven with all natural, vegetable dyed wool on a sturdy cotton foundation. We'll throw in a custom cut rug pad on the house to keep this little gem secure and wiggle free.
