Handwoven circa 1910-1920, this is a low pile antique Northwest Persian from the rugged mountain areas of Heriz on a dark burnt orange ground. It is beautifully timeworn, tribal and loaded with immense character including camel animal elements woven in, pinwheels of life and more.
It has a low pile wool body with lovely, scattered wear and powerful medallions. The main border in a deep dijon color features serrated leaves.
