With diagonal art form and contrasting natural dyes in the field, this little gem gives us something to wonder about. On a wool foundation with remarkable fringes to adore and a soft texture, this small scatter rug woven by the Baluchi tribe members give us something to have for decor and yet again pass down to the next generation. Handwoven circa 1880 with all natural, vegetable dyed wool. This old baby folds up easy like a handkerchief. It is floppy by nature of its incredible old world wool.
Baluch or Baluchistan is the area between the borders of I R A N, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and with influences from all three regions, these rugs are distinct with character and do stand out from the crowd. They mainly come in scatter rug sizes as you see here.
