Late 19th Century Caucasian runner.
This old Russian woven by women in the Caucasus mountains is perfectly love worn. It has a great length, which is quite hard to come by as rugs from this region are typically in much smaller sizes. The rug is in good shape considering the time and history it has had.
The color ways are beautiful and harmonious and all the organic dyes from plants, vegetables and fruits used to dye the wool has aged so gracefully. The ground color of this runner is indigo blue and it sits on a wool on wool foundation, so we recommend a rug pad as it is a softer/floppier rug by nature. We have them in shop. Here is the link if you'd like to add it to purchase:
This is a definite heirloom we are proud to have in the collection and offering it at a great deal compared to the brick and mortar prices out there. Pics taken indoor and outdoor so you can see the color ways vividly.
