3x5 Worn Tribal Scatter Rug #2249

Regular price $900.00

This is a shabby chic, super worn antique rug that was woven in the Caucasus mountains, near Mt. Sabalon. It is from the late 19th Century and is a floppy rug handwoven on a wool foundation. The colors/dyes were produced exclusively from natural materials found in the respective tribal regions of the tribe. The brown we see is most likely from walnut shells used.

The elements in the field are tribal and symbolic with room for interpretation. The fringes you see of the foundation of the rug seems to be hand-spun goat's wool, which is a great element seen amongst these older Caucasians.

This scatter rug will ship with a custom cut rug pad on the house.

Handwoven, with all natural, vegetable dyed wool.
