From the region of Caucasus (North of Persia), this antique vegetable dyed wool Kazak rug embodies great style, geometric and bold design. It's what these amazing rugs are all about.
Kazak rugs are mountain rugs of the Caucaus region and are collectibles, rare and known to be most sought after. These hand knotted rugs are sophisticated antique carpets that come from expert dyers and weavers.
These nomads included in their work of art many elements throughout the rug that has great symbolism as well as symmetry. In the weaver's work, you will notice the medallions running down the field of the rug.
This is a stout Kazak, and does have some wear and tear, as can be expected with its age of being over 100 years old, but it is ready for another century of use as old world rugs were made to last forever.
