Here is an excellent 1930s Persian Heriz runner with superb color story and impressive, powerful medallions running down its field. This remarkable rug owns hard-wearing wool, which is far more resilient than other Persians. This is because the wool from the slopes of Mt. Sabalan are known for ever durable quality and runners from this region have bold, geometric patterns. They are loved for their tribal look, simplicity in design and strength in character. These beautiful weavings were produced all from memory. The dyes are abundant and rich and all natural. Low pile and in great condition for age.
