This P E R S I A N is from the south in the region of S H I R A Z. It has warm & simple color ways which are a bit more muted than some of the other P E R S I A N S in shop. It's tribal, grounded in the center by a triple medallion pole design and a beautiful ivory border that frames the rug.
Hefty with good wool, woven circa 1940, and in good shape for its age. Please note, this is an old handwoven rug and you'll notice one side of the rug is not perfectly straight. Women at the loom took months to weave this piece and all of its characteristics are completely natural and evident of its beauty, age and history locked into each knot. Woven on a wool foundation. Check out those fringes - so raw and real!
