This is an antique Malayer from the 1920s, from the Hamadan district. The area to which this runner was hand woven is one of the rug epicenters. This rug is low pile and is on an deep, indigo blue backdrop.
It features floral-geometric design, hand knotted on all natural, vegetable dyed wool. The rug is in good condition and has scattered wear. One small part along the edge guard was rewoven. What a way to respect and love the original weaver's rug. Please see pic. True heirloom.
