Resilient wool and with a lovely, floppy handle, this antique Persian runner was woven by the Bakhtiari tribe, in the late 19th Century. It sits on a gorgeous and not so often seen ivory ground and the natural wool is still soft to the touch. Rust and forest green banded borders with floral art. Low pile, on a wool foundation and it features shrubs in the field.
In great shape for its age, with one end guard border/at fringes having minor loss of wool. Please see pics. Handwoven with amazing, vegetable dyed wool circa 1890.
