A fabulous rug, fit for royalty; this antique early 1900s Persian Ferahan Sarouk rug was woven to cater to the elite back in the day, loaded with beauty, a super tight weave and extra fine wool.
The Ferahan Sarouk distinction is further evidence of that higher caliber of rug. The classic and ornate design in the main field showcases a medallion within a larger medallion and highly detailed art, woven by skillful hands of a woman. The phenomenal pops of French blue in the corner spandrels is exquisite for the eyes to see. This old beauty has charm, decorum and distinctiveness in line with its superior wool, construction and quality.
With its Persian court-like design, the natural vegetable dyes have faded gracefully to this muted and mellow patina. This beautiful rug is truly a work of art and a demonstration of the artistry and craftsmanship of this unique piece.
Low pile. One tiny patch on this rug as shown in pic. Please see pics for full detail and condition/character.
Hand woven with vegetable dyed wool. Low pile. Worn. Still good for a higher traffic area as it is still stout and sturdy!
