3'5 x 6'1 Worn 19th Century Caucasian Rug (#1298)/ 4x6 Vintage Rug

This circa 1860s-1880s worn beauty was woven in the Caucasus mountains with a wool pile and it sits on a wool foundation...just look at those fringes. Also, the lavender/purple dyes is so rare to come by, as is the amazing pattern and art form of this antique rug. It is quite easy to fall in love with this beauty.The all natural, vegetable dyes are delicious and the rug has character, showing off its age of 140+ years. 

Rugs from this region are very sought after by Caucasian rug collectors. Undoubtedly, a woman wove this rug, and when completed, it was sold as a source of life income.
